Another Friday, another mailbag. Lots of Doc Holliday questions to get through this week along with some pickup ones. As always, feel free to post your questions (about pick up, life, the universe and everything) in the comments or email them to me at entropy@practicalpickup.com.

I understand it’s none of my business but I don’t give a shit. What happened to Doc? I know he wanted to work on his education and go to school but is that really what happened? His blog entry seems so depressing and I was just a little upset because I related to him a lot… and he really was a true source of inspiration in some aspects to my own personal development, so to me it is important.

- Anonymous

Doc asked me not to give too much personal information about him. But from working with the guy every day for over a year and experiencing a lot of the same things he did, here are the factors that I would guess inspired him to quit and leave:

1) He realized he hated traveling, especially when we slummed it in a few cities (sleeping on couches and whatnot).
2) He wasn’t comfortable with the financial realities of this job. This may sound ridiculous for those of you who assume all of us are making six-figures and raking in the dough. But the truth is, bootcamps can be hard to sell, travel expenses rack up. Sure we could make $2,000 in one night but then we’d go three weeks without earning a dime. This wears on me sometimes and I know it wore on him even moreso.
3) He’s in love with his girlfriend and doesn’t want to sarge anymore. Enough said.
4) He didn’t envision PUA as his long-term career and didn’t necessarily want to be remembered for it in 10, 20, 30 years or whatever. This is understandable.
5) Although he enjoyed coaching, he didn’t enjoy all of the bullshit that came along with it: guru politics, community drama and gossip, etc.

He’s going back to school and wants to pursue a career in either teaching or coaching. Having PUA Instructor on your resume would still be taboo in those fields I imagine, especially if he ended up teaching like high school girls or something, lol.

All in all, I think it just wore on him and he got really burnt out. If there had only been 2-3 of these factors, maybe he’d still be here (like I am), but unfortunately not.

Hey Entropy,

What is going to happen to the content on Doc’s blog. He had some really good daygame info on there and it would be a shame for it all to become vapor in cyberspace.

I heard at one point he was going to do a daygame product. I guess that’s not happening now.

- Eric

Doc signed over all of his content to me and I have it saved on my hard drive. All of his best stuff will appear on the re-launch of this blog in a few weeks.

As for the day game product, he and I were doing that together (and actually almost finished). We have no plans to release it anymore.

Is Practical Pickup really finished? I bet this is just some marketing gimmick.

- Like Eight Random People

Yes, it’s really finished. Doc even has a day job already. And actually, if he came to me and begged to come back, I don’t know if I’d say yes… I’ve already put two months of work into new things.

So, no this isn’t a gimmick. Although it’s definitely marketing. Speaking of which, there’s only one spot left for our final bootcamp in Boston.

How do you steal your friend’s little brother’s girlfriend? I know, its a dick move, but the kid is a total jerk and she needs somebody more sophisticated, like me.

-Zeo

LOL. Well, moral ambiguity aside, I’ll give you a short answer. Build attraction like normal, isolate her and then frame her boyfriend negatively over and over.

Asshole…

How do you know when to let go after you tried to get in touch with a girl?
How would you know when to stop pursuing her?

- Rockstar Dentist

Well, the real answer is you can stop calling a girl whenever you feel like it. But I suppose that’s not very useful.

It comes down to a few things: how much you like her, and how much effort you’re willing to put into winning her over.

These days I don’t call a girl a second time. But back when I was getting good, I’d call a girl 3-4 times over two weeks trying to get her to pick up. Some girls will pick up the third or fourth time, so it’s good practice.

Also, there are a minority of women who have retarded rules like they won’t pick up a guy’s first two calls. It’s basically a way for them to screen for guys who are really into them (or just really aggressive)

I’ve gone back and read the entire “Personalizing Pickup” series. I agree with most of what you’ve said. How about a series of articles on how to overcome these sticking points?

- Anonymous

Yeah, that’s what an eBook is for.

As guys hear about Doc’s retirement they’re asking me about what I’m going to do. Am I going to work for another company? Am I quitting too? Am I flying solo?

If some of you remember, about a month ago I was talking about large plans for releasing about half a dozen products as Practical Pickup in the first half of this year. Well, obviously, nothing’s been released, and I kind of quit talking about them.

Doc’s retirement obviously derailed a lot of that work and planning. I’ve had to scrap a lot of stuff and start over on other parts of it. But I WILL be continuing on. I’m in a very good place teaching guys right now, both emotionally and financially. I’m getting good business and I believe now more than ever that I have a ton to share to this industry and community that others can’t.

So, yes, I’m continuing with the business. Here’s what we’re looking at right now:

Conversation Demolitions, Vol. 1: I’ve taken down most of the conversation demolitions off of the blog. I’ll be posting two over the next week, a reader demolition and a demolition of one of my conversations with a girl. Look for the first volume to be released next week some time. The book will contain 22 conversation demolitions in all: 9 that appeared last year on this blog, 11 new ones from readers, and then two of my own conversations.

College Game Guide: This one got derailed by no fault of Doc. I was a solid 70 pages into writing it when a fluke of a mistake when I was backing up my hard-drive erased all of it. I plan on sitting down and recording this in audio format at some point soon. I’ve given three seminars on this, written outlines and written 60+ pages, so the content is all ready to go. It’s just a matter of sitting down and recording 3-4 hours of audio and then getting it all produced. I can’t say when this will be released, but probably by mid-year.

Relationship Management: This is my baby right now and I’m looking to book a seminar room at the end of April or beginning of May to record it. I’m shooting for six hours of material. I gave three hours of it to the Boston Lair in December, and the feedback was overwhelming positive, particularly from the 30+ crowd. This material is far more than harem management or how to get a girl to be a fuck buddy (although that’s all covered), it goes into deeper issues of relationships: communication, jealousy, vulnerability, and love. Yes, I am going to make a PUA product on love. In fact, I’ll be spending at least an hour on love and I think the shit I say will mind-fuck you all. I’m aiming for a release of this by June/July.

Blog Re-Launch: I’ll be re-launching both my ebook and my blog later next month. The ebook is revised and I may write another 10-15 pages in it. I may throw in a price drop since it’s been out for a while now.

And the blog, well the blog is going to kick some major ass. I’m going to be moving it over to its own domain, server and the content management is going to be sick. By May, this blog is going to be THE BEST place for free pick up information, both in quality AND quantity.

Super Secret Project: Finally, I have an uber-secret project in planning stage right now. It’s ambitious, but if pulled off, it could change a lot. I’m talking making me a major market player at the worst and running the competition out of business at best.

If you want to stay up to speed and stay informed with any of the stuff listed above, the best thing you can do is sign up for my newsletter in the upper right on this blog. Most of my announcements will be sent out through that.

To read his uncharacteristically short-winded farewell, go here. His blog is taken down. Comments are disabled. If you’d like to say something to him, you can comment on this post and/or email him at dochollidaypua@gmail.com. He told me he’s going to still check it now and again for the next month or so. Although don’t ask him dating/day game questions, as I’m sure they’ll go unanswered.

So I suppose SOMETHING should be said here. And I guess since he has nothing to say, I’ll say something.

First of all, everyone should know that there was no in-fighting, melodrama or money issues. He and I are still on very good terms and as far as I understand he’s leaving without any bad blood or ill will towards anyone. For anyone who’s curious, he’s planning on going back to school and pursuing a real life job.

I’ve known Doc for almost three years now. To be honest, when I met the guy, I thought he was really obnoxious. He was in the middle of what he refers to as his “over alpha” phase — basically, he had just lost his virginity and kind of thought he was a lot better than he actually was and acted like everyone should know it. In short, he was the obnoxious “alpha” community guy who was over-compensating for everything — trying to be too loud, too funny, too cool, etc.

Looking back, it’s ironic that I ended up working with him, but being the main day game guy in Boston and me being the main night game here, it made sense at the time.

As time went on, he mellowed out, he matured, he got a lot smarter — not just intellectually, but emotionally as well. Today, I’d call him a good friend. Three years ago I never would have guessed that.

I owe the guy a lot. Although it’s annoying now and then, he’s one of the only people in my life who gets on my case when I fuck up. Having friends who will always call you out on your bullshit is valuable, especially working in an industry like this.

Last summer when I was completely disillusioned with the whole scene, being a coach and freaking out because I had just quit my day job, his enthusiasm and persistence helped get me through that. If it weren’t for him, I’d probably be back in a cubicle right now.

But it’s because of that experience that I don’t blame him in the least bit for leaving and am not bitter at all. Sure, this scene improves the lives of thousands of men the world over, but there are some fucked up aspects of it, especially once you get good, and ABSOLUTELY when you start working in it. In some ways, it takes a strong stomach to work in this field.

Despite whatever you think about Neil Strauss, he wrote in his book, “The only way to win the game is to quit playing it.” There’s definitely a lot of truth in that. The only guys who stay in this scene after they get good are validation junkies or instructors (and often both). The guys who get what they came for eventually find themselves leaving. Now it’s Doc’s turn.

I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. I imagine I’ll keep in touch with him, so if for some insanely unlikely reason you need to get in touch with him, you can email me.

As for Practical Pickup, it will be shutting down in its present incarnation. I will be continuing on, flying solo. I’m not worried about it. Actually, I’ve got more business right now than I’ve ever had before. I have big plans for this blog and the industry in general, so you guys should stick around. I’ll continue coaching, but probably not in any organized bootcamp format.

I’m sitting in LAX waiting for my nose-bleed, red-eye, death-defyingly-early flight back to the (l)east coast. We did another program down here. Among psychic, serendipitous moments and me throwing shit at Doc during seminar again, we managed to soak in SoCal sun rays, massive sleep deprivation, and the corrosive social stench of our fellow PUA’s.

Which PUA’s you ask? We made quite the rounds this trip. Among spending time with DJ Fuji (Mehow’s top instructor), the ever-lovely Erika, and Megatron (currently in the running in both Practical Pickup’s Coolest Former Student Award and Most Fucked Up Sense of Humor that would Make El Topo Wince Award — BTW, Megs, your blog is pink and looks really gay), we spent some quality time with old skoolers Cameron Teone and Formhandle (of Fast Seduction fame) — and this isn’t even to mention a bizarre text correspondence I had with Hypnotica… brother.

We giggled while Cameron frantically hit on LA platinum blonde crackwhores with fake tits… Well, they giggled, I mostly drank.

Fuji’s mohawk now glows in the dark. Which was helpful because Cameron’s apartment lacked such modern affairs as electricity and dining room furniture. But he sure as fuck had Chex Mix and beer.

I once fucked a girl in a church. This was considered appropriate dinner conversation.

We gave an amazing and dynamic talk to a group of 50+ guys — except I forgot our products in Boston and we didn’t convert one single bootcamp sale. One bootcamp student’s credit card got declined… after a full day’s coaching. If I’m homeless in two months, you won’t have to ask why.

Woo woo spiritual shit actually works. Who knew? Erika might as well be friggin’ Ms. Cleo the way she reads my mind. She cured Formhandle’s cough and my indigestion with nothing but her hands. Doc was skeptical, so she put her hand on his chest and he almost started crying. Respect the woo woo.

We taught, “What’s black, blue and hates sex? … The five year old in my trunk,” as an opener… and it hooked. Take your routine’s manual and wipe your ass with it.

I’m going to keep this short, since Doc Holliday will be doing a longer write-up our Vegas trip with Sinn.

The trip was pretty awesome, and I actually didn’t have a typical “Vegas experience” the first few days because we were so busy teaching bootcamp.

But it caught up with us. I’ve slept five hours total the last two nights. The first night, we went to a strip-club and Sinn and I ran stripper game. I had actually never been to a strip club before — I was always either in a relationship, broke, or couldn’t really wrap my head around the idea of paying a ton of money to look at boobs. But Sinn gave me the crash course and away I went. Within minutes of walking in, I was talking to three strippers.

Obviously Vegas strip clubs have extra “perks” if you want them. It was a hell of an experience. Some strippers had some serious game, and cracking them is like a riddle. They tend to have very strong frames and know better than to qualify themselves to you or let you run too much comfort.

The funniest part came when a girl was inviting me to the back to have “extra fun” with her. I turn this girl down as softly as I can to try and keep her talking to me. She asks me why I won’t do it and I tell her, “Well, I can either pay you $100, or I can just go to a regular night club and spend a few hours talking to girls and get laid for free.”

She then got visibly pissed off. She said I shouldn’t go fuck random sluts. This made me LMAO in her face, considering she had just finished propositioning me 10 seconds prior. I point out that considering she’s a whore, who is she to hate on girls for being “sluts”?

She replied that, “They have no self-respect, because they give their bodies away for free.” Hooker logic… WTF?

It’s like a deranged form of feminism.

The next night was much less exciting. Sinn and I got hammered, blew a bunch of money in blackjack while openly wishing terminal illnesses unto our dealer and his family. We then stumbled to a diner and talked about how awesome Michael Jordan was until the sun came up. Don’t even think we talked to a girl the entire night.

I slept two hours and came to the airport still drunk. I threw up a little in my mouth going through security.

I’m fine now.

Just finished up a bootcamp here in LA. Doc’s starting his lair talk and I’m going on after him in about an hour. Los Angeles (Hollywood in particular) is kind of the cradle of the PUA community and there’s a lot of hype and lore from this area. After teaching my first bootcamp here, here are some of my thoughts.

- The girls are overrated. They’re not that hot. They’re like any other girls in the country except with nicer tans and nicer clothes. Blow outs here are not more common nor are they harder. I don’t think Doc and I got blown out our whole time here. I find that really the differences around the country are blown out of proportion. People really aren’t that different and that includes hot girls. (For your info, in my experience, NYC has the hottest girls and Miami is the hardest place to sarge).

- It’s ironic that one has to come to a city where it never gets cold to see every guy wearing a scarf.

- The stereotype is true, almost every person I met here in LA has two occupations: what they really do and what they want to do. Some of the people I met were: waitress/actresses, bartender/musicians, administrator/writer, etc.

- Best exchange of the weekend:

Her: “I’m trying to get a job at Fox News.”
Me: “Jesus Christ, kill yourself.”
Her: “Oh my God, that would be horrible.”
Me: “You’re right. Take a gun to Fox News, kill all your co-workers, and THEN kill yourself.”
Her: “No! There will be no killing at Fox News.”
Me: “Come on, do your country a favor. You’re obviously not a patriot.”

For your info, the girl kept talking to me for another five minutes until my student got her friend’s number and ejected.

- Highlight of night game: blasting the worst Tejano music imaginable while cruising down Sunset Boulevard.

- A big shout out to the guys we’ve met out here. Thanks to CaptainHook and Megatron for their amazing hospitality. Seriously, our bootcamp and talks may not have happened without you guys. Thanks to J the Ripper for setting up our talks. Thanks to the Casanova Crew — seriously one of the most solid group of guys of any lair we’ve visited.

- We met Vince Kelvin while out here. He’s SERIOUS old school and possibly the highest-energy person I’ve ever met. But the guy is one of the kindest and most genuine people I’ve met in the community and he’ll be hosting Doc on his free call tomorrow. Check out Doc’s Blog for more info.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, and the answer finally came up in a conversation with a friend of mine. The magic pill for getting girls.

What is the ultimate lifestyle for meeting women who want to fuck?

Now this is cutting edge stuff here and only the truly dedicated should read past this point. I know that 99% of you won’t fully grab your balls, do this, and change your life forever. But the ones that do will be living the dream.

So what is this “Magic Pill” that I speak of?

Genital Herpes

Now I know some of you are disgusted. Some of you are afraid. Some are intrigued. And some are confused.

But all of you want to know more.

Just think about this for a second, what kind of women get Herpes?

That’s right the cock loving sluts

And what do people with herpes do?

Go to support groups multiple times a week

And why do they go to those groups?

If you said for moral support you’re wrong.

They go to meet other sex partners who won’t judge them for their so called “disease.”

Any large city is going to have multiple groups on different days of the week. Boston has three in a Google search and I can only imagine there are more.

It’s like Fight Club where you bounce from group to group. Or like Choke, where Victor goes to sex addiction meetings to meet women. Hmmm, theme in Palahniuk’s novels? That man was ahead of his time.

Want to build a harem?

Give them Herpes and they won’t want to fuck anyone else and spread it.

But what about the risks you say?

What risks?

Some sores? Most people have them less than 4 times a year.
Itching? Makes you more sexual, why else would you be grabbing your dick all the time.
Spread to others? Harem baby!

Herpes is the ULTIMATE LIFESTYLE

Who’s with me!?!?

I can order the virus wholesale from the manufacturer and give it you guys at 1/2 price!

What a value! only $14.99USD!

That’s like 6 Euros for my readers across the Atlantic!

I get a lot of questions about what to do with dead phone numbers and how to bring them back to life.

First is when do you decide that a number is dead? Sinn came up with a great system for following up with numbers called phone freeze out. Basically it breaks down so that for each time you’ve called her and she doesn’t answer up or return your call you freeze her out for that many days before trying to call again.

Written out it looks like this–

Day 1 – Call
Day 2 – Freeze out
Day 3 – Call
Day 4 – Freeze out
Day 5 – Freeze out
Day 6 – Call
Day 7 – Freeze out
Day 8 – Freeze out
Day 9 – Freeze out
Day 10 – Call
Day 11 – Freeze out
Day 12 – Freeze out
Day 13 – Freeze out
Day 14 – Freeze out
Day 15 – Call

In theory this could go on forever but after two weeks (15 days) you can pretty much assume that the number is dead. I also like to leave a voicemail each time I call and she doesn’t answer. It’s best to keep them short and not mention the fact that she never returned your call. I usually just say “Hey, It’s Doc. Talk to you later.”

I used to leave leave messages of me singing a la Jeffy and his Air Supply voicemail… but then I kinda realized how weird and inconvenient it is to sing into someone’s voicemail.

Now I usually just send this text.

I wait until it’s about midnight or 1AM and send this fake booty call “Come over. Key is in the usual place.”

Usually they reply saying that you texted the wrong person or something similar and I always respond “Haha. oops. that wasn’t for you.” and call them the next day. Most of the time they pick up and will start grilling you about the booty call and who it was for. Just laugh it off, cut the thread, and stack into something else.

Saffron has great connections to parties and night life and he would just change the name of his dead numbers in his phone and every week or two send out tons of mass texts to the girls saying “Hey everyone. Big party at X bar tonight. Come out.”

Some nights a few girls would show up, other nights just one or none would come. Either way they’ll give you social proof and a lot of times will create jealously plot lines and all that shit.

Try both, see which you prefer, and make the most of your numbers.
