A few months ago, I mentioned that there would be some major changes coming to this blog and my whole business structure this year, including a large shifting around and/or removal of content. Well, these changes are going to start happening probably in the next week or two. I wanted to give all the regular readers a heads-up so I don’t get 400 emails one day complaining or freaking out that the blog is gone. Here’s what to expect and in the relative order that things will happen:

New product launch. The new product is basically my book Practical Pickup, plus about a dozen of my best blog posts, plus a bunch of audio and video, plus a bunch of exercises and in-field challenges. It’s all organized into a step-by-step system that tells guys exactly what to learn and to practice in order. Obviously when this product is released, the blog posts that are part of it will be removed forever.

I will be moving the blog over to www.practicalpickup.com. There are a few reasons for this, mostly marketing-related. I will continue to update the blog, although probably only half as frequently. Also, a lot of very generic and boring material that very few of you will read will be added to its archives, again for marketing purposes. My updates there will probably continue to be my personal musings and personal development as they’ve been here the last six months or so. Despite organizing the content for marketing purposes, the updates will not be commercialized.

EntropyPUA.com will be re-situated 100% for my coaching business. It will probably become a static page with links to my products and coaching services.

Coaching prices will probably go up slightly again, as well as bringing on 1-2 coaches under me. Do not ask about coaching for me, I already have plenty of friends who are qualified. If you’ve been thinking about doing some coaching, and don’t want to get hit with the new prices, my guess is they’ll go up in August sometime.

My guess is by the end of the year, I will start a personal travel blog/site, which will receive more attention and be more about living mobile, passive income, international travel, and other life observations. It appears as time goes on, I’m going the way of Herbal and Style… becoming far more interested in developing my lifestyle as a whole, rather than just getting laid a lot.

I love writing this blog and still put a lot of time and effort into it. But these days, it makes less and less sense for me to maintain it to such a degree — both professionally and personally. It will continue to exist, but whereas for most of the last 3 years, it’s been either my ENTIRE business, or the primary focus of my business, going forward, it’s going to have to become a secondary priority.

There have been some seriously life-changing discussions here and when it comes to intellectual engagement and understanding, this is the best readership I could ever hope for. So thank you all.

Upcoming posts: Entropy plays with online game, new observations on day game versus night game, my observations on having fuck buddies again for the first time in over two years.

Here’s a heads up that I’ll be speaking at the 2010 Dating Conference in NYC from June 4-6th. This is looking to be the biggest conference of the year with a great line up of speakers. Guys who’ve read me for a while know that I usually turn down conference speaking opportunities, but after meeting the organizers this last Winter and talking to them, I have to say I’m pretty excited about this one.

My talk will be called, “Pick Up as an Emotional Process.” If you’ve read the blog religiously, then you’ll have a vague idea what direction I’m going with it. But basically the idea is that everything we do in pick up is designed to elicit the proper emotional responses from the woman and ourselves. All tactics, and techniques are designed for this purpose. Whatever you do and say is only as useful as the emotion it elicits. From this starting point, I hope to draft out a new way of practicing seduction.

Other speakers include BradP, Adam Lyons, Vin DiCarlo, Julian Foxx, DJFuji, Nick Sparks, Rob Judge and others. BradP will be revealing his infield footage for the first time ever. And Adam and Vin will be presenting brand new material as well.

On top of that, attendees get access to a private party Thursday night (open bar), free products from EVERY speaker, and massive discounts on coaching (up to 60% off in some cases). The icing on the cake is that you’re in the best US city for picking up women for a weekend.

Also, the organizers were kind enough to give my readers a discount on the ticket price. When you buy your ticket, put entropy2010 in for the “Discount Code.”

And finally, if you’re one of the first five guys to register using that code, we’ll set up a FREE 30 minute consultation, IN PERSON together at the event. We’ll sit down face-to-face, and discuss whatever sticking point you have, as well as me giving you any advice or impressions I have you upon meeting you.

To register or get more info, head here: 2010 Dating Conference

Hope to see you guys there.

Slowly over the next month or two, a lot of the content and free advice on this blog will be gutted and either adapted into some future programs/products I’m working on, or re-worked in some way. Some of the lesser important and “filler” posts will also be moved to various sites for marketing purposes.

My guess is, at least 50-60% of the content will remain untouched. The bulk of the posts about my life, experiences, day-to-day thoughts and a lot of the deeper theory and musings on emotions and whatnot will still be here. At this point, the blog contains in the ballpark of 400-600 pages worth of free material written over the last 3 years. The idea is to chop away the fat, throw out what’s out-dated, use the most applicable advice in my business, and then keep the blog itself as a place for me to continually post new ideas, theories or experiences to get feedback from all of you guys. As always, thanks to everyone who keeps reading.

Also, I just changed the pricing structure over and PickupTube.net. The first month is now $4.95, so you have more than enough time to check out all of the videos. Access is instant as well.

More content coming this week and hopefully something interesting will come of this Brazilian model I’ve been playing cat and mouse with all weekend — hooked up with her but still haven’t sealed the deal. Hopefully will have something to report.

Last year about this time, I covered the changes and developments in the “PUA Community” in: PUA Community Year in Review — 2008. If you haven’t read it before and have been around that long (or not), it may be worth reading again.

In that article, I made the points that 2008 represented a new level of skill for the community as a whole, and a disenchantment with the hero worship that drew most of us to the community in the first place. I also made a few predictions about 2009.

1) Market forces will force a lot of websites and small companies to close shop. I was completely off the mark with this one. In fact, the opposite has happened. The large companies have struggled to make ends meet, whereas there are small-time coaches popping up everywhere and in every major city. If anything, the market is actually splintering and localizing. More on that later.

2) The backlash will continue and grow in the short-term but eventually be incorporated into the market in a meaningful way. I was right about the first part but wrong about the second. The “PUA Hate” trend peaked in early 2009. But as with anything that only exists to tear something down, it was unable to offer any alternative in its place. The fact remains that millions of men out there are seeking dating advice and after a while, “X Guru is a fraud,” just wasn’t offering any alternative. As a result this trend has been slowly dying off.

3) Local lairs and organizations will play much bigger roles. True. Again, the splintering of the PUA market has caused local lair leaders and figureheads to be able to commercialize.

4) A new meme will have to be established in the community. Although many have tried (myself included), this simply hasn’t happened. In fact, there’s some frustration around that “there’s nothing new under the sun.” There hasn’t been any major breakthrough in material or theory in almost two years.

So what DID happen this past year?

- The splintering of the PUA market. This is the biggest one and a product of the improvements in game I mentioned in last year’s review. Basically, people finally realized that the best guys in each major city were all just as good, if not better, than most of the “gurus” and coaches out there. They also realized, that a ton of people would be willing to pay them a couple hundred bucks to take them out rather than pay Love Systems or RSD $2000.

As a result, the market has become far less homogenous, and actually FEELS like its shrinking, when in fact it’s just localizing. Content sites are benefiting the most from this, as they’re able to provide material and products from everybody without prejudice.

Ultimately, the “consumer” is winning out big time in this deal, as this does two things: 1) it forces the “big name” coaches and companies to be accountable for their coaching — something that was desperately needed a couple years ago and 2) it gives guys a wider choice of teachers at more reasonable prices.

- The “PUA Community” isn’t a community anymore… it’s a flat out industry. In fact, I debated calling this post “The Death of the PUA Community” but I think I’m going to hold off on that post for a while. The message boards, camaraderie, free flow of information and advice, is all but gone and replaced by content sites, viral marketing, promotional materials, free trial offers, and viral videos. Any sense of “community” has been relegated to company forums, local lairs and random independent forums.

- The pick up market has officially “matured.” There’s no or very little “unclaimed territory” anymore. Success in the market is relying more and more on working together with other websites, coaches — cross posting, sharing material, doing free seminars or teleconferences, etc. — not coming up with the new exciting bit of theory and material. Guys like Brad P and myself made our careers out of nothing but writing LR’s. I don’t think that’s possible anymore.

All in all, a lot of guys are frustrated or upset with these changes. There’s less new content, everything costs more, and there are more sites to sift through. But in the end, I think our market is finally reaching saturation point. This is actually a good thing. The hacks will be separated from the legit content creators. Guys who do good work will continue to build reputations rather than those who just make the most noise. There won’t be any new “Revelatory” content produced this coming year, but a steady increase in quality and usability of the theory already out there. It will continue to become more personalized, more realistic, and more usable, even if there’s not some big tidal wave of enthusiasm behind it. It’ll happen silently and slowly.

But gone are the days of the “PUA worship.” In fact, the PUA lifestyle and those who celebrate it are seeming to become fewer and further between every month that goes by. Whereas a year ago, “Does guru X date hotter women than guru Y?” was a legitimate question discussed. People don’t really care now. They realize that guru X and guru Y each offer different advice and lifestyles, and it’s up to you to choose which one you prefer.

This is a step in the right direction. And although many may lament the loss of forum gossip, LR’s, pic threads, and free and fresh theory everywhere… in the end, everyone is going to be allotted more quality material in a more efficient manner, for cheaper and on a more localized and personalized level.

As a market, you can’t go wrong with that. As a community… well, I hate to say it, but there is no community anymore.
